T/R module as integrated transceiver front-end subsystem, has been widely applied in military and civilian communication systems, in a phased array radar T/R module directly determines the cost and performance of the radar machine; shorter wavelengths, wide frequency band, and obvious interaction with the atmosphere is characteristic of millimeter wave, such8mm wave as a typical wave, it is currently the most mature researched and widely used millimeter wave. This thesis focuses on the theme of8mm-wave T/R module, studying and designing the transceiver system and its key components.After system analysis, the thesis determines the operating mode of sending and receiving duplex in time division, using the SPDT switch to select the active path, the rational use of reciprocal passive devices to improve component utilization and helps reduce the system volume; selection of a typical superheterodyne transceiver structure, fixed local oscillator, one time frequency conversion, simplify the system design.In this thesis, one five-order inductance diaphragm loaded cavity filter is designed, between37GHz to38GHz, the RF filter has a reflection coefficient less than-12dB, insertion loss less than2.5dB, and has a good band selectivity; while the other structure of substrate integrated waveguide RF filter is simulated. The design of IF filter adopts branch line structure, measured results of the Butterworth filter shows reflection coefficient less than-13.3dB, insertion loss better than0.86dB below4GHz pass-band, and the form of a microstrip circuit can be well integrated with other planar circuits. The IF amplifier with two-stage ATF-54143designing has in-band gain of19.06±0.16dB, and noise figure less than1.2dB in3-4GHz, so high gain and low noise characteristics could well meet the system requirements for receiving high-gain and low noise emission. In addition, two types of waveguide microstrip transition structure are designed by HFSS software, and used for internal and external connections of hybrid microwave integrated circuit system; after theory analysis, the thesis makes a reasonable choice of the millimeter wave monolithic microwave integrated circuits-RF LNA XL1003-BD, RF power amplifier HMMC5040, second harmonic mixer HMC330and single pole double throw switch MA4AGSW2.Ultimately, on the basis of the production unit circuits debugging, this thesis completed the lGHz bandwidth8mm-wave T/R module production, and system testing and analysis, receiver link with in-band gain of about20.9dB, the flatness of±0.7dB, and a noise figure less than4.5dB, transmit chain has a maximum output power of17dBm, to meet the miniaturization of the short-range communication requirements.
