At present, China is in the historical period of rural economic transformation. The traditional rural economy has been transforming to modern commodity economy, and the traditional agriculture based on single grain production has been gradually transitioning to big agriculture integrating agriculture, forestry, animal husbandry, fishing, work, business, construction, transportation and service industry.TV media, as an important part of rural public cultural service system, is the bridge of urban and rural areas, playing a vital role in information communication, environment test, culture transmission and entertainment. One important task is to promote the rural economy. TV programs for farmers hold responsibilities of promoting rural economic development, updating farmers’ideas and building a new socialist countryside. Therefore, under such a situation as rural economic transformation, it is significant to the development of modern rural industries by innovating such TV programs combined with the current situation and providing market information timely and effectively. It also contributes to updating farmers’ ideas, mastering the market supply and demand, developing product sales.The economic service program "Experience on Getting Rich" on the CCTV military-agriculture channel CCTV-7is a success among such programs. It is the only program focuses on China’s agricultural development, transmission of experience and information of getting rich with comprehensive coverage. The actual audience rating of this program reaches as high as0.7%, almost the same as that of the "Evening News" on CCTV-1, and the impression is over1.8%. It has become the greatest contributor for the CCTV-7viewing. The program helps the audience, especially the farmer audience to update ideas of getting rich and pass advanced experience by telling the stories of those successful models about becoming wealthy. This not only improves the audience’s enthusiasm for entrepreneurial wealth and ability to create wealth, but also creates high audience rating and receives good reputation, which can be described as killing two birds with one stone. This thesis intends to do a deep analysis of "Experience on Getting Rich" in content and form with news narrative theory. On the one hand, a better understanding can be acquired about its content selection, narrative features, narrative structure, and program production; on the other hand, exploring the success factors and potential problems has realistic significance to providing experience for other agricultural TV programs and improving the quality of other similar programs.This thesis adopts206shows of "Experience on Getting Rich" from July1,2010to August31,2011as the research sample. Based on signs analysis, content analysis and typical case study, combining relative theories in narratology, linguistics, semiotics and other disciplines, as well as from the perspective of narrative signs, narrative voice, narrative time and narrative strategies, an interpretation of the narrative features and its narrative value within the text has been made.This thesis has six chapters:the first part introduces the basic situation of the topics related to the background, theory development, research object and research methods. Chapter1is the foundation of the study, it does a deep analysis of "Experience on Getting Rich" from the linguistic signs and the non-linguistic signs. Chapter II and Chapter III make an interpretation about "Experience on Getting Rich" from the narrator, the narrative perspective, the narrative focus and the narrative time. Chapter IV is the study on the narrative characteristic of the program, and the last part is the study summary and conclusion.
