Tou-sè-wè Press is an important subsidiary body of T’ou-sè-wèorphanage. It occupies an important position in the modern history ofChristianity going into Chinese, modern history of Shanghai and modernhistory of Chinese publishing. A large number of books were publishedin the history of nearly a century of operations, and they have hugeimpact.Currently study about T’ou-sè-wè Press mainly concentrated inseveral ways: firstly, introduction of printing technology introducted byT’ou-sè-wè Press; secondly, the life and contribution of the museumsmanagement; thirdly, books on religious and linguistic collation andresearch. This article focuses on science and technology books on theT’ou-sè-wè Press published research, especially in the Variétéssinologique of the T’ou-sè-wè Press science and technology books andscience education books. Specific research work includes: bibliographyfully collected Variétés sinologique, books on science and technology,in particular, Catalogue des tremblements de terre signalés en Chinethe survey report focused on excavation and research, these booksscientific research is still of great reference value, but for various reasonsnot been enough attention; a mathematics textbooks which therepresentative of key research on the basis of combing scienceeducation books, select them with the same period required by thegovernment of mathematics teaching content and have a certaininfluence of the domestic like materials were compared, the resultsshowed that: science education the T’ou-sè-wè Press out books withthe church color and academia prevailing view, its audience isrelatively less, mainly to supply the church belongs to the school-especially Aurora University-use its influence in the spread of Chineseand western science and technology needs to be redefined and evaluation.
