Currency circulation is increasing along with the development of national economy.More and more forged banknotes appearances which threatened to the financial security.RMB–banknote discriminating device is a kind of machine which can safeguard the financialsecurity. Distinguish Ability is weak of the traditional RMB–banknote discriminating devicebecause of the simple Structure and less sensor. This kind of product does not meet therequirements of society. This thesis introduce the design method of the RMB–banknotediscriminating device based on Image and magnetism technology. The product based onImage and magnetism technology can solve the problem of sorting the difference edition ofRMB. It can also distinguish the forged banknotes more efficiently. The product has thecharcter recogition fuction which will lay the foundation of the currency direction control.The RMB–banknote discriminating device will be Digital, intelligent and hommization thatbetter meet the client requirements.Firstly, the Security features of RMB are analyzed. Some Security features was screenout to used in machine distinguish. This thesis introduced RMB–banknote discriminatingdevice type and the discrimination technology, and then gave an analysis of the status andtrends of the forged banknotes, introduced the Production permit system and the productionstandard. According to these information, we made a work plan. There are three kind ofimage sensor: CCD, CMOS and CIS. After study the Image and magnetism technology, weschemed three methods: developed with CMOS or single CIS or double CIS. Compared thethree scheme, we chose double CIS.There are four most hardware modules of the device as CIS collection module, A/Dconversion module, signal conditioning circuit module and FPGA control and processmodule. These modules have been chosen by considering of compliance, cost, productionprocess and the software design. After circuit design completed, the new product wasachieved according to this scheme. At last, New product has be checked by collectingRMB image, magnetic characteristics and safety line magnetic characteristics, testingcharcter recogition fuction and distinguish speed. The conclusion proved that theRMB–banknote discriminating device and meet the demands.
