The sports competitions have become the boosters of current urban economy and socialdevelopment, and the ITSM systems have been providing with secure and stable support forthem. Whereas China is lagging behind the Western world in ITSM theory research, thereforeon summarizing the successful experience of ITSM in the Olympic Games and the AsianGames, we can undergo a design and implementation research on this system for the sportscompetitions, and this kind of specific research topic would be meaningful and valuable. After the requirement analysis, we put forward an ITSM system for the sports competi-tions based on ITIL. This system provides these service functions, such as the service deskfunction (including event management), the service support function (including problemmanagement, asset management, configuration management, change management, servicequality management, and contractors/volunteers management), the knowledge base function, the workflow definition function, the vise reports function, and the system management func-tion (including organization management, basic information mentainence, workday manage-ment, and shift management). This system uses Visual Studio2005+ASP.NET2.0as designplatform, and SQL Server2005as database development tool. After operational testing, theresults show that the system has met with the requirements in functions and performances, andthe system is stable as well. The structure of the article includes4parts: The first part is the Preface part, includingChapter I which tells the research background, the research status and the article structure. Thesecond part is the System Requirement Analysis part, including Chapter II which introducesand analyzes the system requirements of the ITSM system for sports competitions. The thirdpart is the System Design and Implementation part, including Chapter III which introduces theSystem Preliminary Design, Chapter IV which introduces the System Detailed Design, andChapter V which introduces the System Database Design. The fourth part is the System Test-ing and Conclusion part, including Chapter VI which is the System Testing and Review, andChapter VII which is the conclusion and expectation of the article.
