In the era of desktop computing, traditional desktop applications were aimed at improving the effectiveness and efficiency of the office to meet the office users’ requirements. So the users can pay more attention on the effective and efficient processing tasks availability. Under this interactive mode, the interactive system of information collection and processing have the following characteristics:First, the collection of information and the processing of information is usually two stage that can be distinguished; Second, the more big the task granularity resolved, the more energy and time will be cost by users to complete the task.With the rapid development of mobile computing, applications is facing huge changes, mainly in the following three points:First of all, users has been extended to potential holders of smart mobile devices, including the elderly, children and the wider community; Secondly, the environment of the applications are no longer confined to the office, but a broader external space, a space at any time can be interrupted or changed; Finally, the task is no longer confined to the office, mobile applications are designed to meet the users’requirement of passing the leisure time, and make the time more fragmented. The changes of context make mobile applications not a simple translation from the PC applications, so we need new interaction models to meet the availability of mobile tasks.Information collection of mobile devices has inherent advantages, and no less than PCs in computing power, which give us a new direction of solution for information collection and processing, but most applications haven’t take this advantage till now. How to use the characteristics of mobile devices in multiple information collection and processing to close the psychology and habits of mobile users in the mobile environment and provide a smoother natural, easy using interactive mode for general public, has become a urgent to be solved problem. This article is the study of this problem solving.In the desktop computing paradigm, data acquisition and processing are two separate stages; the mobile devices support these two phases in order to make the acquisition and processing be interspersed. Different from traditional desktop tasks are mostly thinking-intensive activities, the mobile tasks are interaction-intensive activities, and the interaction of the mobile task should be to break the traditional turned to a more fine-grained pattern of development. Against the availability requirements for mobile computing, we discuss the following issues in this whole paper:Firstly, starting from the human psychology model of information acquisition and processing, analysis the defects of large model granularity or lack of information in processing and their causes. Secondly, against the characteristics of the mobile context and mobile users, summed up the characteristics and design principles of mobile task and non-linear task model. This model solves the problems of the two phases’ separation, by using the fragmentation time in collection phase while real-time processing of information, which can help record the moment of inspiration; provide support for users while processing phase to give them scenes that have happened to review, reduce the burden of memory and information processing. Finally, a mobile interactive electronic diary application by using the above task model will be given, and also this application is designed and implemented as an example to illustrates the effectiveness and feasibility of the task model.
