Although originated from the famous social platform——twitter, micro blog plays an important role in the dissemination of information interiorly. In particular, in the spread of some certain significant public events, micro blog has become the second largest information source in addition to traditional news media. News practitioners, especially those who are marked with "V" on their pages, are more inclined to take the initiative to spread valuable information and offer proper guidance to public opinion in micro blog.For professional journalists,"V" on the page is not only a real-name registration, but also a status symbol. Through it, they gain wide public attention as well as norms to adhere to in activities of micro blog. Unlike traditional media, micro blog provide professional journalists with a virtual, unconstrained and non-synchronous space. This article mainly discusses problems as follows:what new features professional journalists act in micro blog, what kind of role they play, how do they make their self-presentation, and whether they realized their self-identity in the use of micro blog.This article focuses on micro blog, an emerging form of media, and selects the typical person on micro blog, professional journalists marked with "V" on their pages, as research objects. With sample survey, textual analysis, interviews and other research methods, and applying the theories of "onstage and backstage" by Goffman, we make an analysis on the role-playing and self-presentation types of professional journalists in micro blog. Through the study we found that lines between onstage and backstage blurred in micro blog, the exposure of the professional identity of journalists marked with "V" and dissemination of the technical advantages of micro blog prompted the backstage behavior showing the front desk tendency, journalists played multiple roles by the influence of both discipline and self-discipline in micro blog, and that professional journalists continuously switched their identities in different situations and realized their self-identity through interaction with their fans.
