Design And Development Of Components Of Learning Activities Based On WF

With the increasing development of E-learning, learning activities centered design is becoming an important developing field of the instructional design. However, the vast majority of Learning Management Systems are still based on the learning content,which are lack of direct support for learning activities design and activity sequences creation. Therefore, this study aims to design and develop a set of learning activities component,which can be used to create learning design supporting platforms.These platforms support the learning activities’ design and learning activities sequences’ creation, which can be published to generate the corresponding Web pages.From this starting point for the study. First, On the research of the relevant literature, the article analyzes the theories and technologies of learning activities design, and summarizes the features of current Learning Management Systems, and make sure the needs and aims of this research.Secondly, combined with the IMS LD, the article carries out demand analyzing on learning acitvities components.Thirdly, on the analysis of Microsoft WF, based on the workflow technology and learning design concept and build the design model of the components of learning activities, including workflow created mode, communication mechanism of the learning activity components and database design.Fourthly,on the analysis of key technology development methods of learning activity components, on the basis of summing up the learning activities, to implement three important learning components:announcement, grouping, collaborative learning, and use the learning activity componets for a teaching unit of IT courses, to design learning activities, achieve the learning activities management system.Use WF technology to support the learning activity platform, on the one hand, WF has good scalability, the developer can customize learning activities according to the needs, on the other hand, WF provides a workflow engine and services to quickly generate learning activity system, teachers can use the Workflow Designer to visual design learning sequences and students can learn on the platform in accordance with the established sequence of learning, to achieve learning goals.
