With the continuous deepening of the process of modernization, China’s logistics and transporthas been greatly developed. However, due to the surge in business volume, the rapid expansion ofinformation amount has brought new challenges to information management for logistics enterprises. At the same time, the quality of service requirements of the logistics industry is also rising, whichrequires companies to effectively monitor and manage all aspects of the logistics supply chain, andtake the appropriate means to optimize business processes, enhance resilience in order to improvemarket competitiveness of enterprises.According to the characteristics and requirements of thelogistics enterprises, combined with the status quo of the modern logistics industry in China, basedon the Internet of Things technology, we use Google Maps as WebGIS technology, emphasizie ononline display of supplier distribution information and real-time monitoring of the operation of theLogistics vehicle and cargo, to achieve the the informatization and automation of logisticsmanagement, improve the efficiency and accuracy of the data, and increase logistics service qualityand management level. It’s also very important for the future development of the logistics field. In the design and development of this monitoring system, it first described the source of thispaper and significance of the research, status of the related applications and related technologies, focusing on the Google Maps application status and the use of its secondary development prospects. Then it introduced overall system architecture according to the the logistics industry characteristics. Then it introduced the three-tier structure of networking applications, described the development andimplementation of the application layer of the system. Finally, it described the realization of thepresentation layer, and illustrated the usage of Google Map API in development with examples. Italso described the shortcomings of the application system according to the operational characteristicsof the logistics industry, and gave the solution for future improvement. This logistics real-time monitoring system is developed based on the Internet of Thingsapplications and B/S structure. It used Google Maps as map layers, which means to extend GoogleMap based on Google Map API. The system used the MVC design pattern to build a powerfullogistics information management and monitoring platform logistic users, and realize the real-timemonitoring on logistics transport vehicles and goods and imformatization on data management. Itcould solve the issue that inventory efficiency in logistics and transport links is low and and cargoinformation does not have real-time data. This system can improve the supervision of logisticsinformation management standards and business processes, thereby enhance the market competitiveness of enterprises.
