In petroleum refineries, tubular heating furnace is an very importantproduction device and the largest device of energy consumption. Along withthe sustainable development of global economy, human being need moreenergy. With the development of technology and control theory, throughimproving control of the existing equipment, so as to improve the safety factorof the device and economic benefit, is an important means of improvingenterprise benefit. In this paper, to maintaining the safe operation andimproving the combustion efficiency of heating furnace, some advancedcontrol method is explained. Based on practical industrial application, thispaper make following contributions:1、Research the theory and method of furnace thermal efficiency inpetroleum refineries. The determination of the theory and method of thefurnace thermal efficiency in petroleum refineries are introduced in this paper.Then,the determination of the industry standard, follow rules formula isdescribed. During the process of determining the thermal efficiency, allvariables need to measure and the matters that should be paid attention to is summarized. The calculation problem of the enthalpy involving in thedetermination of the heating furnace thermal efficiency is researched. Sums upthe oil fractions, steam and gas heat enthalpy calculation of the regressionformula.2、During the process of determining the thermal efficiency in the tubeheating furnace, variables need to measure is more. That go against heatingfurnace thermal efficiency of real-time measuring online features. In this paper,The thermal efficiency based on excess air coefficient and exhaust temperaturerise in the tubular heating furnace is proposed. According to the proposedheating furnace thermal efficiency model and the existing heating furnacethermal efficiency data, through the PSO optimization algorithm, we find theparameters of various optimization factors in the thermal efficiency model.For the thermal efficiency model of heating furnace containing fouroptimization factors, through the basic PSO algorithm, we can get satisfactoryparemeters of the optimization factors. For the thermal efficiency model ofheating furnace containing nine optimization factors, useing HPSO algorithm,we obtained the satisfactory parameters of the optimization factors of theheating furnace thermal efficiency model.3、For the problems of the real-time monitoring of the thermal efficiencyand oxygen content control in the tube heating furnace, based on the thermalefficiency model introduced in this paper, we put forward real-time monitoringsystem of the thermal efficiency and oxygen content control system. For the real-time monitoring system of the heating furnace thermal efficiency, we putforward a new design scheme based on the existing heating furnace DCScontrol system, in which, the heating furnace thermal efficiency can be onlinedisplayed in DCS system operation station. For the oxygen content controlsystem, useing the heating furnace thermal efficiency model, in view of thedifferent working conditions, we change the set value of the oxygen content,so that, the heating furnace can always be safe, efficient operation. Then, wedo the simulation experiment. The monitoring of the thermal efficiency andthe control of the oxygen content, based on the thermal efficiency model,provides a new ideas for the monitor and control of the tube heating furance.4、In the multi-stream tubular heating furnace control process, it isnecessary to control the oulet temperate of the different branch to be the same,which called the branch balancing control. In the paper, study and compare thedifferent control technique (DCT) and differents control technique (DsCT). Inorder to further research the branch balancing control, we made manysimulation of the application of DCT and DsCT in four branch heating furnacefurnace and obtained satisfactory results.5、In the problems of the branch balancing control, based on the differentcontrol technology and differents control technology, sum up their advantagesand disadvantages, was put forward generalized compensation controltechnology. In the article, the principle of the generalized compensationcontrol technology is explained and demonstrated, the controller design method and simulation experiments of the generalized compensation controltechnology in four branch heating furnace system are presented. Finally, wecompared the DCT, DsCT and generalized compensation control technology.
