With the development of economy and improvement of computer science, information level has become a significant criterion to judge the development stage, modernization level and even investment environment of a city. The municipal pipes, as the major infrastructure in the modern city, which bears the water supply, the heat supply and the water drain. It maintains and ensures natural operation of the city manufacture and living. The management of most urban municipal pipe network is inefficient, and exist some shortages. In order to raise the efficiency of operation of the municipal pipes, use the computer-based monitor and control system for the municipal pipes is inevitable trend for the development. Take into account the management characteristics of the municipal pipes, this paper puts forward to establish a system by using GPRS wireless terminal for remote data acquisition and transmission based on GPRS networks and Internet technology.This system unifies the advanced GPRS technique, the virtual instrument technique, the single-chip technique, the sensing techniqueand the test technique, then applies to the system of the municipal pipes, and realizes automatic detection and analysis of the municipal pipes operation parameter. The system remote data acquisition and transmission, hardware circuit design, real-time gathering of data, the automatic reduction analysis and the anti-jamming design of software and hardware is the key point of this system research.The system uses the GPRS technique, the virtual instrument technique and single-chip technique to carry out its design and construction. Many module circuits are designed in the system and the part choosing, such as the sensor, the data acquisition, the serial-port communication and the design of like the expanded LCD. The pressure sensor, turbine flowmeter are used to get every data, and the great data storage, the fast computation, the logic analysis function of the computer realize the automatic reduction of every data. It send supervise test data out the monitor center by the GPRS module, Based on the formidable functions of Labwindows/CVI of the virtual instrument’s developing platform, the design method of the modularized program is adopted, and the application software realizes signal gathering, the dynamic curve demonstration, the correct analysis and processing of the experimental data. The multi-thread technique is adopted in the software of the monitor center to realize the data acquisition, the interface’s demonstration, the real-time and accuracy of data processing.Research of the municipal pipes Supervise System based on GPRS, and uses the formidable functions of the virtual instrument, realizes the automatic real-time detection of the municipal pipes operation. The system has the merits of friendly interface, simple operation, perfect functions and so on. It not only decreases manpower resources and operation costs, but also ensures the system stabilization and credibility. If the related technology of system integrate with the GIS technology and further promote to the field of the urban municipal management, it will greatly push forward the construction for the digital management of city.
