The technical points of developing the control system of TY-1 adjustable pressure casting with virtual instrumentation technology are discussed.In the system, the process of adjustable pressure casting can be controlled by using two modes-manual control mode and automatic control mode. The automatic control system, which consists of a measure computer and a control computer, is established by the use of distributed computer structure. The measure computer carries out the tasks of user-machine interaction, data acquisition and so on; the control computer concentrates on the control work.The application software of the measure computer is programmed with a graphical programming language known as Lab VIEW, which is a powerful virtual instrument design workbench. The software is endowed with a user-friendly interface, a animated process-monitoring window and a reliable alarm, including the functions of the teal-time data acquisition of 6 pressure signals and 22 temperature signals, the asynchronous serial communication between the measure computer and the control computer, and so on. What's more, the methods of using external code in LabVIEW are elaborated.In addition, an input-optimizing design method is put forward. The simulation result shows that this algorithm produces a marked effectFinally, a new design of the control system of adjustable pressure casting is proposed. Based on the hardware structure, the real-time tasks of the application software are analyzed. Scheduling the real-time multitasks enable the real-time control system to be realized using LabVIEW.
