This paper make a in-depth research on the Developing Situation and research results of Die CAD technology by consulting domestic and foreign relevant literature. In order to achieve drawing die design of cylindrical parts of intelligent and automated as the goal, developed a drawing die CAD system of cylindrical parts.This paper developed a drawing die CAD system of cylindrical parts, based on mainstream3D design software Pro/ENGINEER, using their own development toolkit Pro/TOOLKIT, and Visual C++6.0language. Developed an interactive design interface by needs analysis of drawing die CAD system, combined with Pro/TOOLKIT interface program design and MFC technology; Enables the automatic calculation of drawing process, using function interpolation, automatic look-up table, calculating process using computer program; Built a standard mold base and steel plate databases using Access2007, achieved the smart choice of the steel plate and mold base using ODBC technology to achieve the connection of MFC and Access; Enable the parametric design and programming of work piece and die using parameters and relationship function of Pro/ENGINEER, combined with relevant function of the model and parameters of Pro/TOOLKIT; Achieve the association between work piece and the assembly die model and the drawings through the data transmission between modules.The CAD system developed in this paper includes work piece input module, process calculation module, mold design module and drawing module, based on design of drawing die. User can finish the design of drawing die and get the drawings of the die and each parts with a high efficiency and quality. Due to Pro/ENGINEER-wide relevance, when the work piece parameters change, the drawings will automatically make the appropriate changes. This changed the traditional two-dimensional design method, increased the efficiency and quality of drawing die design of cylindrical parts.The system program has been tested to run correctly and achieved the desired purpose.
