The Study On The Psychology Of Archives User

With emergence of information exchange among human race, awareness and need for utilizing archives came into being, and so did archives utilizers. With the gradual frequency of archives utilization, study on utilization psychology of file users has become an important project in archivistics. File users are service target of archives management, embodiment of archives values, around whom each link of work is launched. Therefore, if archives departments want to fully satisfy archives information users’needs and further exploit resources of archives information in both strength and depth, they must know rules of their mentation accurately. Only thus, archives departments may take appropriate psychological countermeasures in time, improve and enrich service content and ways on purpose, in order to increase service quality. With analysis on archives utilization status in our country, this paper plans to analyze effects of file users’psychological characteristics of personality, archivists, archives environment on their utilization psychology, to provide some reference for Chinese archives management.This paper is made up of six parts:The first part is an introduction, which reviews and straightens up related literature of home and abroad, and illustrates study objective and meaning of this paper; it elaborates research status of home and abroad; and it introduces research methods, thoughts, and innovatiors of this paper.The second part puts connected psychological concepts and traits into order; it expounds relations of psychology, files and archives; and it recounts contents and significances of psychological study.The third part discusses relevant principles of research on file users’psychology, including meaning and characteristics of needs, their psychological utilization needs, definition of motive, and their motives; it analyzes users’needs, motives, relations of behaviors, and their influence on file users’psychology.The fourth part applies psychological knowledge of personality to analyze file users’utilization psychology in details from aspects of inner quality, character and ability; it expands on effect of archivists’psychological personality, mental and body conditions on file users’utilization psychology; also it discusses influences of archives environment over it. The fifth part attaches importance to countermeasures according to the conclusion given in last part, and points out guide of research on this project, including studying file users’utilization psychology through various means, i.e., serving file users and society better, and prompting progress and development of archives by enhancing archivists’efficiency, improving working environment, strengthening public consciousness of archives and doing archives management well.At the end of this paper, basic conclusion of the research is given.File users’utilization psychology is practically important in improving archivists’ efficiency and working environment, strengthening public consciousness of archives, and doing archives management well. Meanwhile, mastering and analyzing file users’ mentation, as well as adjusting their psychology appropriately have realistic significance in improving social consciousness of archives and making full use of resources of archives information.
