With the development of science and technology, video system are entering ourlives with its rapidly increasing pace. Video and audio gives us an unprecedentedsensory experience with the help of their variety of integrated and network offeatures. Currently, video systems have been applied to our daily life, education, work, safety, health, military and other areas broadly, for instance, high-definitiondigital TV, online video chat, remote online education, video conferencing, videosurveillance systems, intelligent transportation systems. We need to debug, test Video systems, to verify whether they meet the desiredobjectives after the completion of the design. The debugging environment can varieswith the difference of video system, and some of the video system debuggingenvironment may be very difficult to achieve or the cost is very high, such as forestfire monitoring system and missile tracking system. We design a video system fordigital video source to debug the simulation system to solve this problem which willreplace the video camera to inject the required special scene to systems to bedebugged. The system consist of computer and interface converter card. Firstly video dataare transferred by the computer through the DVI interface to the graphics interfaceconverter card, then interface converter card process the video data, and transfer theprocessing result to video transmission systems by the Camera Link interface. Thispaper will complete the design of the interface converter card. Interface convertercard consists of three parts: the first part is DVI decoding module which is used to receive video data transferred from the computer; the second part is the videoprocessing module with its purpose to change the format of video data (frame rateand resolution) to meet the video system demand; the three part is Camera Linkcoding module for the video data transferring to the video system. The system makesFPGA-XC3S2000in Spartan-3series of the Xilinx company as its core devices toachieve the transformation process of video frame rate and resolution, and adoptssingle-chip and flash to download configuration files for FPGA. A configuration filecan correspond to only one output format, so multiple configuration files can bestored in flash, and controlled by the MCU for download to improve the system’sversatility. The system adopts dual-channel DVI interfaces and Full mode Camera Linkinterface which can support all video formats ranging from VGA (640×480) toQXGA (2048×1536).
