This paper is mainly research on Paul Levinson’s the evolution of media, and then under the guidance of the thought to attention to the development status and future trend of the new new media, which in micro-blog, micro message as the representative. Firstly, this article clarifies two theoretical origin of the evolution of media, on the one hand, the influence of Carle Popper and Donald Campbell’s evolutionary epistemology on Paul Levinson’s media thought, thus forming his own technological epistemology; on the other hand, Levinson critical, inheritance and development Mcluhan’s thought, which is the representatives of media ecology school, thus, advanced Mcluhan’s thought to the digital age.
