The laser range technology has the advantages of high accuracy, high resolution, strong anti-jamming capability, small size and light weight, it is widely used in various aspects of the military, science and technology, production and construction. Laser range method is widely used in pulsed laser range and the phase laser range finder. A portable laser range system based on the TDC-GP2was researched in this paper. Firstly, the principle of laser range finder was deeply analyzed in theory, comparative analysis of the characteristics of the two kinds of laser range and proposed pulsed laser range system design. Deeply discussed the design of laser emitting circuit, laser receiving circuit and high-precision time measurement circuit.In the part of the design of laser emitting, using two pieces of transistor as switching circuits to realize the rapid charge and discharge for capacitors and then complete the driver. In the receiving part, select the APD as receiving media converter parts, completed the design of the bias voltage circuit, preamplifier circuit, main amplifier circuit and comparator circuit, then Analysis the methods of time identification. In the part of high-precision time measurement, introduced the method of the time interval measurement, complete the time interval measurement by the use of the TDC-GP2. Improve the time measurement accuracy, High-precision time-interval measurement provides a reliable guarantee of the range accuracy of the system.
