FMIPv6protocol is a new Mobile IPv6protocol based on Mobile IPv6. A new care-of address NCoA is configured before MN arrives at the new network. MN can use the NCoA to communicate with CN directly when in the destination network, which reduces the interruption time. At the same time, the packets are forwarded by the tunnel and cached by the access router in order to reduce the packets loss. However, FMIPv6protocol exists some defects, such as the the low efficiency in the handover preparation phase, as well as the poor handover performance cased by the ping-pong movement, in addition, the registration between MN and HA、CN causes some handover delay. As the real-time business of the contemporary network development, the handover delay and the packets loss rate have attracted great attention. Thus, according to these problems mentioned above about FMIPv6, an improved handover scheme about FMIPv6is designed, which introduces information learning mechanism and binding proxy mechanism. The main tasks in the paper included are as follows.First, the configuration of NCoA and the Duplicate Address Detection DAD are executive before receiving the L2trigger signal through the information learning mechanism, the previous access router configures the NCoA according to the information table and then detects the NCoA so as to judge the uniqueness.Second, the establishment of tunnels completes in advance so that the time caused by establishment of the tunnels after MN arrives at the new network can be reduced. In addition, the tunnel timer can manage the tunnel on the basis of the demand to avoid the problems caused by the ping-pong situation to a certain degree.Again, the registration is performed ahead of time. MN sends the PFBU to PAR when receiving the L2trigger signal, then PAR operates the binding work instead of MN, which reduces the handover delay caused by the binding task started until MN arrives at the new network.Then,π-calculus is used to deduce the mathematical model and deduce the process of the PI-FMIPv6, it can be proved that the optimizing scheme called PI-FMIPv6is rigorous and standard.Finally, the network topology structure fit to PI-FMIPv6is built, with the help of NS2and the extension module FHMIP1.3.1, follow by that, the simulation experiment between PI-FMIPv6and FMIPv6is executed. The result from the NS2shows that PI-FMIPv6protocol can decrease the delay by60.7%at least and the packets loss rate61.5%when compared to FMIPv6protocol, it is verify that the PI-FMIPv6protocol presents better than FMIPv6protocol in terms of delay and packets loss rate.
