As an ancient form of communication, the rumors have a strong vitality. They are evolving as the human society changing. From word mouth era to the modern information society, the rumors’power is becoming stronger as our media’s development. The its form is becoming diversification as well. Being a new product of 21 century information society, the microblog spreads information more rapidly and instantly than any other media. It constructs and extends the new social networks, and meanwhile, it supplies a new groundwork to the information communication. Accordingly, the rumors can utilize it as an efficient way to diffuse false information as well. Because of the microblog’s advantage, the rumor in microblog would cause an enormous impact to our society. Many specific rumors like "Jin Yong’s Death", "Scare Buying of Salt", "Resuscitation of Zhang Guorong" and so on are the specific ones which cause an enormous impact.This article summarizes the study and research of rumors in microblog, combines the communication knowledge, news knowledge and some social theory to analyze the rumors in microblog systematically with the help of examples’demonstration. In order to find out the pattern and features of rumors’diffusion in microblog, this essay did a systematically research on the characteristic of rumors in microblog, the reason of rumors in microblog, and the "self-clean" of microblog. It will help us to find several ways to control the rumors’diffusion in microbolg. The consequence will be helpful for us to build a healthy internet atmosphere and contribute to the harmonious society construction.
