A Study Of Microblog Rumors About GM Topic

This research takes GM topic rumors on Weibo platform as the object of study, focuses on its propagation features, exploring the topic Weibo rumors broke out timing, life cycle, key nodes and paths, and contents. Through case analysis, study the life cycle of Weibo rumors, use a visual analysis tool of the microblog to determine key nodes and path analysis and interpretation; based on content analysis method to study text topics of microblog rumors,its representation, narrative strategy and emotional expression, comparative summary of the content of general and diachronic changes, attempts to explore the deeper reason behind the microblog rumors.Research found GM topic of microblog rumors life cycle fits into a overlay of deceleration pulse pattern, its time dependency and content adherence, research assumed that GM carcinogenic rumors is caused by trust crisis which leds to a collective moral panic, so different Weibo user using same collective memory framework, to reply the received information about GM topic.Summary of GM topic microblog rumors expression way and narrative strategy showed that,user of using preference and microblog itself limitation of expression make it stretched when face to GM dispute topic discussion: it is hard to formed a depth rational discussion space, preconceptions of concept leads to blind user share of content made rates response or mood expression without thinking; ingenious narrative strategy and diverse of expression way successfully avoid questioned discussion though a trust endorsement and infection mood of path, immediate sharing makes users rational thinking in an inert state, easily accept the feelings of fear or anger to mobilize, which deliberately or inadvertently contributing to the proliferation of Weibo rumors.Study examines typical Weibo rumor vitality, propagation paths and key node, consider that "circle of interest margin" and "virtual circle" is important to the diffusion of Weibo rumors; while investigation and examination on the content of a typical rumours Weibo comments, the study suggests that "echo chamber effect" do exist on Weibo rumors.Statistical analysis of Weibo rumors emotional expression showing the rough voice.In that sense, research regard GM rumors of Weibo as a emotional catharsis in social emotional resonance, and discusses the possibility of Weibo rumors evolving into real protest or developing into a social movement.In view of a macro-social theory, GM topic microblog rumors caused by as fallow: China society in transition in the process of modernization, risk increasingly amplified, with the intensifying social contradictions, moral panic and trust crisis, GM topic hits the collective memory about food and cancer, people used rumors through Weibo to express demands, give vent to their feelings.In conclusion, this study of life cycle of typical rumor, content analysis, and review of emotional expression, will contribute to the interpretation the group mentality and social atmosphere behind rumors about controversial public issues in the specific historical context. Study on the social reasons of the microblog rumors is conducive to understand and regard rumor rationally from a social phenomena perspective.
