With the rapid development of wireless communication technology, the number of phone users is increasing sharply, wireless communicate equipment updating everyday. A good phone with good quality and low price is very welcome by producer and customer. This has become the main stream of phone design. Phone antenna is the most important part of a mobile phone. It’s character affects phone’s performance and appearance directly. So the design of phone antenna is a very important part in the whole design of mobile phone. The main mission of this paper is to design3multi-mode antennas which can cover GSM/PCS/DCS/UMTS and TD-LTE bands.To meet the goals, the author reads a lot of reference, does a lot of research about the technologies of multi-frequency, wide band and compact. Based on this, the author designed3multi-mode phone antennas. The first antenna uses multi-branch and coupling feed technologies to achieve high performance.-5dB band span is0.87~1.01GHz,1.71~3.00GHz covered GSM/PCS/DCS/UMTS and TD-LTE band. The max gains at GSM/PCS/UMTS/TD-LTE bands are respectively-2.6/0.7/1.5/-0.1dBi. Antenna2and antenna3use technologies of coupling feed and cutting slot on ground.5dB band span of antenna2is0.88-0.96GHz,1.62~2.81GHz. The max gains at GSM/PCS/UMTS/TD-LTE bands are respectively-1.2/-1.3/-0.6/-2.1dBi.-5dB band span of antenna3is0.78-0.96GHz,1.62-3.00GHz. The max gains at GSM/PCS/UMTS/TD-LTE bands are respectively-0.6/0.4/1.1/1.3dBi.During the design, theory analysis and optimize method are taken, and the3antennas are processed and tested according to the simulated results. The test results indicate that all3antennas can meet the demand.
