At the same time with the further developing of the information industry, the modern office displays a growing trend of complexity, diversity and internationalization. Requirements of office efficiency in all sectors of society are increasing. Office automation has developed rapidly, and its applications become more widespread.Testing laboratories are offering services for production companies on testing, certification, consulting. There are significant differences between the testing laboratories and other industries with their job contents and job requirements. The main purpose of this project is to improve the laboratory’s efficiency by integrating the office automation systems with testing laboratories’work.This paper reviews the development history of office automation, prospects the development future of office automation, explores and defines the meaning of office automation’s contents and characteristics in the new period. And analysis the Application of workflow technology in office automation System On this basis, excavates and analyses the business demands, testing demands and management demands adequately combined with laboratory work and management status, designs a complete office automation system for testing laboratories. To reflect the clean interface, easy operation, clear objectives, the system is divided into four modules district:daily office district, testing business district, quality management district and systems management district. Especially in the testing business district and quality management district, which combined with the laboratory daily work methods and optimized the business and management processes, it pushes the laboratory’s management to a new level.The system based on the workflow technology, uses B/S model for building system and SQL Server 2005 in back-end database. The entire system using the management information system in the process of software development, makes the prototype system much more stable and easily to maintain. Office automation system is currently running in the lab. Its running results are satisfactory. Its stability, reliability and convenience have been verified.
