Nowadays,3G networks are devloping with a high speed, and the three major telecom operators, China Mobile, China Unicom and China Telecom, are actively building their 3G networks. With the completion of 3G networks construction and a large number of services launching, data services will become the main services of wireless communication and will enter a stage of rapid development. Currently, operators are actively trying to import WLAN technology in order to solve the problem of insufficient capacity and improve the users’experience. However, because of the openness of the frequency bandused by WLAN, there are a lot of personal or enterprise deployments of WLAN. On the other hand, TD-LTE will be deployed in the 2GHz band, which is adjacent to WLAN channels. In the long-term evolution of 3G networks, the operators will absolutely face the interference coexistence problem between TD-LTE and IEEE 802.11.The subject of this paper comes from the enterprise project, and the main purpose of the subject is to assess the system performances when TD-LTE and IEEE 802.11 coexist. The main tasks of this paper are the following three aspects:This paper summarizes the method of interference coexistence simulation in system level. System level simulation usually used three methods:uncertainty analysis, Monte Carlo static simulation and dynamic simulation. In addition, the paper explains the cause of interference and how to model the transmitter and receiver in simulations. Finally, various models used in system level simulations are introduced, including interference models, wireless propagation models, business models and topological models. In the performance analysis of interference coexistence between TD-LTE and IEEE 802.11, distributed coordination function(DCF) is mainly considered in IEEE 802.11 MAC, which is most frequent used. We assume that there is only one source of interference for simplicity. And then we can divide the network into three scenes according whether the station suffering the interference. In each scene, we employ the Markov model to model the retreat process of the stations and get the transmit probability by using numerical methods under the assumption that each station have a full buffer traffic. Finally, this paper gives the simulation results of interference coexistence between TD-LTE and IEEE 802.11.
