| The features of multiple antennas can be realized by using only one reconfigurable antenna. This characteristic makes reconfigurable antenna attract more and more attention along with the development of wireless communication.Reconfigurable antenna, VANET, and DSRC are introduced in this paper. This includes the background and development nowadays of them. The research status of reconfigurable antenna is introduced mainly, this paper also includes the theories related to antenna design, including the complete equations of electromagnetic field, the radiation of electromagnetic field, the parameters of antenna, the introductions of slot antenna and waveguide theory. All these are the theory basis of the design of the pattern reconfigurable antennas proposed in this paper. The two new pattern reconfigurable antennas are introduced separately. The first one is a pattern reconfigurable cylindrical antenna working at 5.8GHz ISM frequency band. There are four different configurations and four different radiation directions. The radiation of the antenna can be among four different directions if changing the states of the PIN diode switches. The structure of the antenna is very simple and the feed of the antenna is easy to realize. Besides, the antenna is small and light, these are very useful in wireless communication. The design principle of the antenna, the selection principle of each parameter, the analyses of the impact of the probe with different lengths are all given in this paper. Then the simulation results are also listed. The second one is designed for DSRC application. It is based on the first pattern reconfigurable cylindrical antenna. There are some improvements in some aspects according to the requirement of DSRC. Firstly, in one side, two slots are used in order to improve the directivity of the antenna. Secondly, the impact of car is taken into account. The antenna has two configurations and its radiation can be switched among two different directions. And these are achieved by changing the states of the PIN diode switches too. The reasons for the improvements, the impact of different probe lengths are both given in this paper. The simulation results are given too.In the end, there is a conclusion based on the introductions in the former chapters. And at the same time, this paper looks into future for the research. |
