With the widespread of Internet and the development of fieldbus technology, industrial field control model has undergone tremendous changes. The control system is being towards network, diversification direction. But due to the control system of field bus standards are not unified, has seriously affected the development of Fieldbus technology. Then, fieldbus and industrial Ethernet technology in the field of industrial control fusion became the new direction of development.Serial communication is simple and reliable, easy to implement, and has better performance of data transmission, and widely used in industrial control systems and equipment. But this kind of equipment is mainly used management methods, it is not easy to expand. With the development of the Internet, these devices through industrial Ethernet composed of distributed industry control network system has become the inevitable trend.This article according to the industrial environment, design of a low cost embedded serial device server, serial data stream and the Ethernet data frame between the conversion, so that scattered in the industrial field of serial devices to access Ethernet to industrial control, data acquisition, transmission and control equipment distributed intelligent management.This paper introduces the significance and role of serial port server, based on the ARM framework of Cortex-M3,32high performance, low cost microprocessor LM3S6911, open source embedded real-time operating system Rt-Thread and open-source Lwip protocol of serial port server complete design, and development of PC configuration software.This design mainly includes three parts:1) According to the characteristics of industrial environment, low power consumption, high performance embedded LM3S6911processor, the processor combines the10/100Mbps Ethernet media access control (MAC) as well as the physical layer (PHY), so that the design can realize single chip solution. 2) In the transplantation of embedded real-time operating system Rt-Thread and embedded TCP/IP protocol stack based on Lwip. Develop of data exchange program and interface communication program.3) In Windows platform, developed for users of serial port server configuration software.Finally, provides the function and the performance test results.In this paper, the design of industrial serial servers has the advantages of small volume, high performance, simple operation, low cost, applicable to industrial environment, satisfy the actual demand.
