GPIB Control Card Based On PCI Protocol Design

The PCI– GPIB card is one way of building automated test system. This paper discusses design mode of the PCI– GPIB card. On the hardware, it consists of NAT9914,QL5030, etc. On the software, it is written in c language.There are 15 devices including the computer in the automatic test system used the PCI– GPIB card. It is able to achieve the maximum data transmission distance of 15 M.It debugged by a bus analyzer itself in the automated test system used the PCI– GPIB. There are some subject we discusses. First, we have discussed the background and significance of subject in the paper; Second, it have introduced the protocol of PCI and protocol of GPIB in the paper; Finally, it have introduced the design mode of the PCI– GPIB card. In the PCI– GPIB card, used IP core based PCI has simplified logic and timing of PCI signals; used NAT9914 has achieved features of GPIB port; used GAL16V8 has achieved the features of bus analyzer in the PCI– GPIB card.
