WIFI-based Target Location and View SystemIn post-PC era, digital information technology and network communication technology are developing rapidly, and embedded system, with its unique advantages, is widely used in consumer electronics, aerospace, network communications, industrial control, medical care and other fields. With the dominant frequency of embedded system getting higher and higher, the processing speed is also getting faster and faster, and the gap between embedded system and PC is getting smaller and smaller. Besides, embedded system has the characteristics of low power consumption, portability and low-calorie, all which PC can not compete with. No doubt, embedded system has become a bright spot in the computer field today.In view of the many advantages of embedded system, this thesis researched a kind of terminal to solve the question that in large-scale projects,the entire project could not be completed on time caused by the lack of co-coordination between the mechanical manipulators for their unknowing of other machinery’s location and status information. This terminal can be applied to a construction team where need for mutual transmission of image information and position information by using the embedded technology, wireless transmission technology and positioning technology.By watching the displayed on the terminal,we can know the position information and the image information of the other terminal,so it can effectively promote the mutual cooperation between the team, and improve work efficiency, and is convenient for people’s life.This thesis combined embedded processors, wireless networking, camera and GPS module, using Linux as the development platform, designed target location and view system. The main function of this system is to collect image information by the camera and to obtain location information via GPS, and then to transmit this information to other terminals via WIFI (this design developed6terminals), therefore the interaction of position information and image information among the6terminals can be achieved. The main content of this thesis includes hardware and software system design. Hardware design includes the design of circuit diagram and way of making PCB and a detailed description of the layout and wiring of hardware modules and network circuit design; software design includes system developing environment establishment, hardware modules drive under the Linux environment, kernel transplantation, application program development and Qt graphical interface design, the focus of this part is the development of LCD driver and touchscreen driver, V4L camera application, the process of network data broadcasting using UDP and way of making Qt map browser. In addition to the detailed description of research method and process, this thesis deeply analyzed and discussed some difficult issues, made a final summary and a proposal for improvements.This design made the interaction of image and position information among terminals possible, and after a long period of debugging and experimenting, it was proved to be stable, the position and image information transmission speed is excellent, and the information was reliable. It had achieved the desired effect.
