The advent of digital and network era, especially the development of broadband and wirelessnetworks, provide an opportunity for the applications of big data such as audio on the wirelessnetwork.It has been pointed out that the sound quality of digital audio technology is lossless, has lowdistortion, wide frequency response and high SNR in analyzing the significance of multi-channeldigital audio research, thus becoming the trend of audio development. Besides, embedded Linuxhas excellent technical performance, its software is easy to be ported. With the rapiddevelopment of multi-channel digital audio in recent years, it has huge market prospects andbusiness opportunities.This thesis is committed to design a multi-channel digital audio broadcasting terminal forwireless local area, and broadcasting it to the receiver. The receiver selects the audio channel thatit needs to play and store. The main function is integrated in a Qtopia interactive interface, whichprovides a humanized way through visual operation. By setting the operating mode, the terminalcan be used as the transmitter or the receiver.Software design includes the setup of system development environment, driverdevelopment of hardware modules in the Linux, application design. This thesis focuses on thedesign of driver of sound card and wireless LAN card, multi-channel digital audio packetspacking and unpacking, graphical interface design. This thesis finishes the design ofmulti-channel digital audio broadcasting terminal for wireless local area, and the terminal isbased on embedded processor ARM11hardware platform, embedded Linux operating system.This multi-channel digital audio broadcasting terminal has the following advantages:(1) Itdoesn’t need to lay a dedicated audio line.(2) It’s low-cost.(3) It’s easy to be installed andmaintained.(4) It has global open ISM (industrial, medical and scientific)2.4GHz, thusensuring the reliability and compatibility of the system.This thesis has broader application. For example, in large-scale international conference,participants come from different countries, their statement needs to be interpreted simultaneouslyinto other languages, and multi-channel encoding, broadcasting, so participants can choose theirown language to listen through the receiving terminal. It may also be used in multi-channeldigital wireless speakers, such as5.1-channel surround sound system, compared to traditionalsingle-channel speakers, it expands channels, and improves the audio quality, bringing surroundaudio effects to the audience.
