Analysis And Design Of Construction Project Management Information System

It is a very complex process to manage resource, time and cost in a construction project. At the early stage of the project, there are project plan, feasibility analysis, and engineering design to worry about; then in the process of the project, biding, progress, plan, contracts, materials and quality are to be managed; and at the end of the project, acceptance, auditing, settlement, documentation of completion and assessment of investment need to be dealt with. Each part of the work in the lifetime cycle of a project is not independent; they actually rely on each other and have effects on each other. As projects expand in scale and complicate in contents, effective management is not longer merely a problem of efficiency but rather an indispensable means and tools. In order to solve problems in construction project management mentioned above, a system for construction project management is under construction. With the help of computer network technology and database technology, it brings to us an information management platform of resource sharing, and helps improve level of management.The Construction Project Management system aims to manage and control the investment, progress, quality and safety of a project in its lifetime cycle. By mastering the critical state and information of the project, managers from different level and apartment communicating information with the system, the system is able to present to the manager with requested information in tables and figures. It provides statistical analysis of project progress and investment, and user can query from the system.In this paper, we introduce the software architecture, network architecture and system design of the Construction Project Management System, as well as its implementation. It is based on the current network environment, and by analyzing the current mode of construction project management, it helps information management. VS2008 and C# are used for the implementation of the system, and a quality assessment is also carried out.
