With the rapid development of Hong Iron and Steel Group in recent years, the Group has many factories, trading companies and processing factories distributed throughout the country. These companies have their own logistics departments; all these logistics departments operate separately and can’t form a scale in logistics, which makes a high cost of the logistics and long transportation period. If we form a unified platform to publish information of logistics resources, the same direction sources can be combined to make the transportation. It can cut the cost of logistics and shorten the transportation period. The branch companies of Hong Iron and Steel Group have their own information systems, information is scattered in various systems. These systems use different hardware, operating system and programming language, system functions can’t to be effectively integrated. The information can’t be shared between these organizations; it can’t effectively support the cooperation in logistics management.This thesis discusses the importance to build a centralized logistics management system. Through analyzing the current status of information systems in the Group and comparing Service-Oriented Architecture with the traditional architecture, the SOA technology is considered to be the best solution to feed the requirements of building this system. Based on the analysis of a centralized logistics management system which supports combined transportation management, plan& execution management, fee accounting management and other key functions and core processes, this thesis makes the detail design of the core architecture of the centralized logistics management system through SOA technology. This thesis focuses on how to use SOA to complete combined transportation management subsystem based on J2EE technology. Finally, this thesis analysis the investment returns of the system.
