Wireless sensor networks is a wireless networks consisting of sensor nodes, which can be usedfor wireless communication, sensing and data processing, meanwhile, sensor nodes have manyadvantages such as small volume, low cost. As a new technology of information capturing andprocessing, wireless sensor networks is widely used in military, medical, environmental monitoringand other areas, it is also a research field concerned at home and abroad currently. As a keytechnology in wireless sensor networks, wireless location technology has become an importantresearch field and the basis of the study of wireless sensor networks technology. Localizationalgorithm is the core of positioning technology in wireless sensor networks, RSSI-based locationalgorithm is currently a hot research, and widely used in the industry, because that the sensor nodeshave function of wireless communication and the general RF circuit has function of RSSImeasurements.Fully doing research on the existing RSSI-based distance measurement technology andlocation technology, through the analysis of loss model about radio signal propagation path, thispaper presents a RSSI location algorithm based on the information between the anchor nodes asreferences. With the information between anchor nodes as a reference, this algorithm can calculatethe environmental parameters of the wireless transmission path loss model accurately, theenvironmental parameters includes the path loss coefficient, the signal strength of referencedistance and so on, thereby it heightens the measurement accuracy based on RSSI between theunknown nodes and anchor nodes. In the phase of simulation, do some simulations of algorithmwith different numbers of anchor nodes and different communication distance of sensor nodes,meanwhile, get the maximum location error and minimum location error of unknown nodes in theprocess of experiment. The results of simulation show that the algorithm heightens the positioningaccuracy of the unknown node in some extent.Finally, it described the CSS-based positioning algorithm in detail, and did the cycle ofrefinement for location of unknown node with the method of probability calculation, thencompleted implementation of CSS-based algorithm in Nanotron positioning systems. Furthermore,take the laboratory environment as the background, it did some related experiment about locationand did some experimental analysis.
