Injection robot is a kind of special purpose robot and designed of mimicking human upperlimbs. Now injection robot has been widely used in plastic manufacturers. Because it can take outproduct from molds under high temperature and narrow room, so the workers work environment,production efficiency, market share can be improved. When using the injection robot a lot ofinteraction frequently happens between human and machine, so a handheld device with a goodhuman-machine interaction and reliable performance plays a decisive role in the injection robot. Inview of the advantages of Windows CE5.0real-time system structure and GUI design, a kind ofhandheld device is designed with Windows CE5.0and ARM9, uses LCD and touch panel as itsinput and output channel. This paper introduces the hardware, software design and debuggingprocess of the terminal in detail.1、Thought and program of hardware design is proposed. In order to debug and enhance lateron, the total hardware is divided into two parts: kernel board and expansion board. Kernel boarddesigns a minimum system based on S3C2440and expansion board includes power, touch panel,serial port, USB, buzzer interface and other peripheral circuit.2、The development of human-machine interface is completed. After learning the human-machine interface principles Windows CE, the whole interface is divided into seven major partsaccording to the principle of the robot, they are boot interface, work interface, function interface,monitor interface, manual interface, module interface, modify interface. The design method andprocess of interface is offered after analyzing tasks. Some problems such as the interface flicker,small information display, and module file cannot be read quickly and effectively are resolved.3、Method of serial communication is introduced. The handheld device communicates withlower level computer through RS485which has strong anti-jamming capability. The projectdevelops a communication protocol, applies check arithmetic suitable for system and usesmultithreading to communicate, so real-time efficiency is improved.4、Integration and test of the system is accomplished. After downloading program andmodifying the registry, this application program can start without starting Windows CE operatingsystem interface. And the system can reach the desired function and meets the real-time andreliability requirements of actual system.
