With the rapid development of computer simulation in theory and practice, High LevelArchitecture (HLA) with its interoperability and reusability was widely used in simulation world. Butsince the expansion of system scale and complexity, HLA-based simulation system can notcompletely meet the simulation requirement for lack of the mechanism of improving simulation entitybehavior’s ability. Agent technology provides a new idea for the development of simulation.Agent combat simulation framework was put forward based on HLA/RTI simulation platformand component technology because of the problem of traditional simulation can not effectivelyimprove entity behavior’s ability. First, the simulation framework adopted the combat entity structuremodel based on BDI Agent architecture. On this basis, through the analysis of the entity behavior’sgenerating process, the output framework of the combat entity behavior was established. Secondly,the express of the knowledge and the rule’s framework used relational database with mass datamanagement ability. Its realization was borrowed ideas from middleware technology. By using theconventional development tools, knowledge base system with independent rules and procedures wasdeveloped. On this basis, the flow of operation control of Agents was developed in simulation.Besides, in order to ensure the reliability and time-ordered of communication between Agent entities,the communication process based on HLA was put forward. Finally, in view of the fire distribution inmilitary simulation, genetic algorithm with deadline was used to solve the optimization problem ofthe fire distribution, and by a meta-level control of the algorithm to improve the overall performance.An air-defense antagonism example was designed and realized. Six federates were contained inthe example, including five combat entities and a simulation control and management member. Thecombat entities were the targets, air defense group of command and control, firepower unit commandand control, launch platform, the ground to air missile. Combat entity members was realized by theAgent model based on HLA and component technology, and the realization of simulation control andmanagement member used HLA-based simulation model. Federates based on two models cooperatedwith each other to complete the simulation function, which had verified the feasibility andadvancement of the simulation framework.
