Training simulator of vehicles has been widely used in modern military training and personnel training, because of its cost savings, safety, high efficiency and short training cycle. It can not only improve the technical level of the operators rapidly, but also save lots of training funds, extend the useful life and shorten the development cycle of the equipment. Therefore, it is of very important practical significance to study the training simulators of vehicles which are valuable training equipment of low-input and high-output.Based on the review of domestic and international research and application of the training simulators of vehicles and distributed interaction simulation, this thesis put emphasis the theoretical analysis and experimental research of the design and implementation of the logical architecture of the vehicle training simulation system, improvements and analysis of the real-time of the simulation system based on the high level architecture (HLA), and the federation implementations of the vehicle training simulation system.In the first chapter, the important role played by the vehicle training simulation system in the operators training and training exercises was discussed. The domestic and international research and application of the vehicles training simulators and HLA was introduced. The current and future development of the distributed interaction simulation was stated. Finally, research background and main research contents of the thesis was presented.In the second chapter, the overall design of the vehicle training simulation system was studied, the composition of the vehicle training simulation system was described and the data stream of the simulation system was analysis. Finally, the HLA technology of simulation system: HLA rules, HLA interface specification, HLA object model template, run-time infrastructure (RTI), federation development and execute process model was researched.In the third chapter, the system architecture and logical structure of the vehicle training simulation system was designed. The federate function was divided. The federation object model/simulation object model of federation and the federation execute process was studied. Finally, the implement of the federation management services was studied.In the fourth chapter, the requirement of the real-time of the vehicle training simulation system was introduced, the shortage of the HLA simulation system was studied and the improvement was compared. The timing precision of various precise timing techniques on Windows were tested with digital signal processor (DSP) and digital oscilloscope. The high-precision timer was applied to the vehicle training simulation system to improve the real-time of simulation system.In the fifth chapter, hardware and software conditions of system operation was introduced, and the running processes of simulation system were done. In order to verify the effectiveness of the federation function achievement of simulation system, four federates were developed and operated.In the sixth chapter, the research work was summarized.
