Abstract/Summary:
With the enlargement of the scales of cities, the passenger flow volume has obviously increased. To provide better service, it is important and necessary to model a video surveillance system for bus. By this, not only does it greatly improve the safety of the bus and facilitate collecting evidence, but also constricts the driver’behaviors to avoid traffic and decrease the risks.According to the needs above, this paper deeply analyze the key problems in the surveillance video system and design and achieve a 3G wireless video surveillance system designed for bus. The system is based on TMS320DM355 platform and Linux operation. This paper introduces the development technology of embedded system based on Linux, such as building and implanting kernel, cross compiling and the start process of the kernel. At the same time, the thesis puts emphasize on analyzing puzzles and key points of all modules, such as four-channel capture module, display module and network transmission module.At the end of the paper, we make several experiments to test the system’s functions and performances, and do some analysis according to the results. The results demonstrate the system can send seven to eight frames per second to the media server through the 3G network and at the same time display on the screen locally at least twenty frames per second, which meets the needs of both the driver and control center. Additionally, the frame seems clear under the resolution of 720 pix*576 pix. To sum, both the functions and performances of the system reach the requirements.
