Based on the Doppler rate difference of two stations passive location is a kind of importantpassive localization method, it uses two receivers to measure signal of received Doppler frequencyvariation many times, using the minimum mean square estimation to determine a goal (radiationsource) position. At the same time, because of passive location system itself not launch anyelectromagnetic signal, have anti-interference, fight the anti-radiation missile interference, against lowpenetration and anti-stealth ability we call it "four counteractions". Due to the low interceptprobability properties that make it in the modern electronic warfare have stronger advantages andsurvival ability. So in electronic against field play an important role increasingly. Based on thedoppler rate difference of two stations passive location system it precision mainly effected by thedoppler rate estimation precision, therefore, the fast and accurate doppler rate estimation methodbecome the positioning system in a very important topic. The mainly work of this paper as follows:The first part of this paper, Explain the basic principle and positioning algorithm of the Based onthe doppler rate difference of two stations passive location.This paper analyzes the relationshipsbetween positioning precision and doppler rate estimation error, observation time intervals, also do thethe error simulation analysis.Part two of this article focus on the two kinds of signal types of Doppler rate estimation methods,namely the Sine coherent pulse signal and linear frequency modulation pulse signal Doppler rateestimation.For the first signal we introducted the direct and indirect estimation of Doppler rate. Directlyestimation is that transforming the Doppler rate estimation into estimating the coefficient of linearfrequency modulation signal.Indirect estimation is that getting Doppler rate of through estimating thedifference between two moments signal frequency.For the second signal, this article from the time domain, by estimating the radial acceleration oftarget to estimate Doppler rate.Firstly TOA estimation based on correlation detection was introduced.On that basis, TOA estimated accuracy can be improved by using the method of harr wavelettransform. Subsequently, the estimation of pulse repetition period can be obtained using TOAestimations.Thirdly, the basic principle of radial acceleration estimation based on accurate TOAestimations was analyzed and the accurate estimation of radial acceleration was realized usingestimation of TOA and pulse repetition period.Finally we received the Doppler rate.The third part of this paper, we respectively simulation analysis the influence of these two signaldoppler rate estimation accuracy to the passive location.Finally, summarized the work of this paper, and the future of further work is also presented.
