With the rapid development of electronic countermeasure and antiradiation missile,active location system in radar system is challenged by more threat.Passive location technology,which does not radiate electromagnetic wave,can locate the radiant in a hidden way.Featuring in long function range,high antiinterference capacity,it plays more important role in improving survival and operation capacity of electronic system in the electronic war.More countries put emphasis on the research of passive location technology is receiving.In this paper, the key work and innovations in passive positioning technology include:1. The first is a brief introduction to passive location of its backgrounds,present states and importance. It shows the research of the technology have the important military and civilian Value and theoretical significance .2.Firstly introduce basic principle of the TDOA location technology while the merits and demerits is also given.The part mainly analyzes solution technology for non-linear equation and the related issues, such as location precision, location ambiguity and non-solution, on which influences of various factors are also analyzed and simulated.3. The algorithm and accuracy of location using difference of Doppler frequency are presented,including the location of fixed emitter from moving stations and location of moving emitter from fixed station.Based on the least squared error estimation,the formulae and figures of location error are discussed especially with typical station configures. Show that the system of measurement error on each parameter affecting the positioning performance, and finally give a typical results and comparison of results the by simulation.4.The problems of location of emitter from multistations using multiparameters are studied.The optimal comfigure,analytical solution and location accuracy using DOA-TDOA,DOA-DD and TDOA-DD are given out with some figures.5. Finally, an overview of author's work and the prospect of passive location of emitter are presented.
