Conventional detection systems, such as radar and sonar, have encountered more and more threats with the increasing of complexity in modern battlefield circumstances. Passive location and tracking technology has been paid much more attention because of self-hiding, far-distance detection and extensive applicability. This dissertation we studies some critical questions of Single Observer Passive Location And Tracking (SOPLAT) based on look-acceleration information, including the location principle, the theory of system observability, the tracking filter arithmetic and location parameter's accurate measure. Finally, the above theoretics is proved by the SOPLAT's test. After introducing the SOPLAT theory based on kinematics, Chapter â…¡ separately discusses the location principle and instant location performance of using DOA and look-acceleration information and that of using DOA, rate of DOA and look-acceleration information. The observability of these two location methods is analysed. In the end, a sort of tracking filter arithmetic , Measurement Space Kalman Filter(MSKF), is put forward and compared with other common arithmetic. Passive direction finding using digital multi-baseline interferometer is researched in Chapter â…¢, including digital phase difference measure, two kinds of solving ambiguity methods and their corresponding direction finding arithmetic. A criterion of weighing interferometer performance is presented at the end of this chapter. Chapter â…£ analyses the accurate measure of look-acceleration information. First, the measure of look-acceleration is converted to the measure of rate of Doppler frequency. Second, this chapter provides two sorts of frequency measure methods of clusters of pulse: one is based on phase difference and the other is based on cross-correlating. When using the frequency measure method based on phase difference, we need demodulate LFM signal, and the parameter estimate arithmetic of LFM Signal based on Fractional Fourier Transform (FRPT) is brought forward. Lastly, this chapter presents three filter methods of rate of Doppler frequency. In Chapter â…¤, two passive location tests are used to validate the above theory. The first test is ground scaling test of SOPLAT, and the intention is to verify whether look-acceleration information could be measured accurately in practice and to verify the feasibility of two sorts of location methods in Chapter II and the effect of MSKF arithmetic. In the second test, We use the data created by radar simulator to further verify the measure arithmetic of look-acceleration information, and prepare for the coming passive location fly test.
