Surface plasmon resonance (SPR) measurement technique is the hottestresearch topics in sensing filed. Surface plasmon resonance sensor based onangular detection has simple structure, stable performance, and the mostpractical prospect. This work is supported by the National High TechnologyResearch and Development Program of China. In the essay, the author designsand builds the SPR angle measurement platform, and researches to improvemeasurement sensitivity and stability of the system. Gases and liquids can bemeasured. The main results obtained are as follows:1.The materials and the film structure are designed and optimize. Theorybased on Fresnel Multilayer SPR sensor head on The thickness of metal film,the material and thickness of additional film and the materials of prism arecalculated and simulated. Characteristics of different parameters of the sensorfilm are studied by experiments with multi-layer film samples. The Si filmwith appropriate thickness is added to improve system sensitivity and highrefractive index prism materials is used to expand the dynamic range.2.SPR sensor based on angular detection is designed and built, includinglight source, optical detection and signal processing, rotating device withelectronic control arms and software. Vertical structure is used for liquidmeasurement; light source and sensor head holder with fine-tuning ensure thefine adjustment of SPR optical system of the; two arms of mechanical devicescan track and scan with the angle resolution of105.4°/RIU; control softwarebased on Labview platform is programmed to realize the automaticmeasurement of the system.3.Some measurement method is researched to improve the systemstability. The method of variable step measurement and reducing the numberof measurement points can reduce the measurement time. The single-pointaveraging method and data fitting are used to improve the accuracy of the system. The beginning of the measurement is set and the point of beginning isdemarcated to improve the system’s repeatability, from1E-4RIU to4E-5RIU.4.Refractive index of air, water and the glyphosate solution wasexperimentally measured. The refractive index of air and water measurementsshow that the stability of the system is4E-5RIU.The refractive index ofsolution of different concentrations of glyphosate was measured, and thesensitivity of refractive index change is the6E-5RIU.5.A new system based on CCD detection is designed. A measuringdevice is set up, and it can be used for experimental measurements.
