Network play is a kind of video production, which is specifically for the computer networkvia the internet to play. It comes from the TV play, but it is more different from TV play.Because it is more in line with the laws of modern life, the art form of the reality of life.Network play is a special and emerging art form which combing the network and video art.Video play has been seen as a new “profit point”. The generation of anything is not independent,accidenta phenomenon, reversely it has its specific historical and social causes(or conditions).Network play is no exception. It is one of the most visible illustration of the quality of popularculture products. Its emergence and development base on a profound social and culturalbackground. The article deliberately adopted a “context” point of view to study and researchnetwork play. That is to say, we understand and explore the network play, is based on thespecific condition that the popular culture has become the mainstream culture of community.The article attempts to roundly analysis the network play from the communication perspective.It investigated in the context of popular culture, the network plays in the creation of text, modeof transmission, commercial operation showing the characteristics. It reveals the penetrationand influence of popular culture on the art of Chinese internet culture. Further more, itdiscussed that in the context of popular culture, the network play how to avoidingdisadvantages, and strived to find out a new road which can not only insisted that the artisticstandards but also has commercial value.
