The basic idea of the Internet of Things (IoT) concept is the pervasive presence around us of a variety of things or objects are able to interact with each other and cooperate with their neighbors to reach common goals. The key technologies of The Internet of Things include:radio frequency identification technology, wireless sensor networks, embedded technology, nano-and micro-electromechanical systems, distributed information management technology. In these technologies, the RFID tag is one of the most critical, the main contents of this paper is the study of the related standard and protocols of Active Radio Frequency Identification and its applications in positioning.This paper studies the international RFID standards and related protocols and the current application in each field. This paper presents the design and implementation of the active RFID tag identification and positioning system, a detailed description of the active RFID tag identification and Positioning system workflows, details related command and its format in the system. The active RFID tag identification and positioning system designed includes four parts:PC, reader, positioning reference points and tags. This paper describes the active RFID tag identification and positioning system design and implementation process, specifically about the system architecture, hardware structures, software systems development process. Designed a display interface on PC which can control the system to complete the appropriate function, and display the system current information as needed.This paper also proposed two algorithms in positioning system:the absolute distance based on RSSI algorithm and the absolute distance and relative angle based on RSSI positioning algorithm, and then analyses the algorithm in implementation.Finally, this paper tests the effects of positioning, obtains the data of positioning, and analysis the result of the experiments, and then propose some ways in improve the positioning algorithm.
