As an important technology to get infrared radiation information, the long linear array infrared detector imaging is widely used in many fields. Linear imaging is irreplaceable in areas which needs high resolution and big field of view. With the increase of the number of pixels in the linear imaging system, its fields has greatly developed, meanwhile, its demand on data transmission rate, capability of image processing and the integration has been set to a higher level.A miniaturized linear infrared imaging system for wide spectral coverage has been designed and realized. The software and hardware structure of the system is introduced, and several modules like command-receive module and decoder module are simply presented. The software optimization and design of miniaturization for the system is illustrated with detail lately, along with the instructions of PCB design and realization of 2048 chip test at 140K. Image data storage and image processing is implemented by upper control software, additionally, almost all parameters for the system could be set by it. Large numbers of imaging test, including 256-pixel linear chip, 1024-pixel linear chip and 2048-pixel linear chip are carried out, meanwhile basis for system evaluation are got and test scheme for key parameters are presented. The test results show that the system can meet the multi-spectral infrared imaging and evaluation. It is simple to operate and it can work steadily.
