Infrared focal plane arrays (IRFPA) is a key component of modern infrared imaging system, which consists of infrared detector arrays and readout circuits. The electrical signal processing system is used to capture signals from IRFPA and amplify it and transmit signals to downstream circuit. Furthermore, This electrical signal processing system also provides various bias voltages which are needed by the IRFPA. This circuit will play an important roll in developing the imaging quality of the thermal imaging system and enhancing the low noise characteristics of the CMOS readout circuit.This paper gives a general introduction to the working principle of the FPA and CMOS read out circuit. According to the characteristics of CMOS readout circuit, the CMOS readout signals from 288 x 4 FPA detector and bias voltage which 288x4 FPA detector needs have been studied. A proper circuit has been successfully designed and fabricated as an interface between FPA and downstream signals for 288 X 4 IR FPA. On the basis of specially analyzing the noise characteristics of CMOS readout circuit, design idea of adjacent circuit has been proposed in this paper, i.e., realizing buffer amplifying function by using low noise operational amplifier IC, and meanwhile a proper low noise wide bandwidth amplifier IC has been successfully selected. The bias voltage power supply with amplifier IC has been also designed by using the characteristic of the emitter follower amplifier. The application of the multi-layer frame in the course of PCB design successfully finished the design, making, welding and test of the circuit. The results of the test proved that the circuit can better satisfy the specification of engineering applications for the infrared focal plane array imaging system.
