Study On College Emergencies Management In Henan Province

As an important social unit, higher educational institutions are regarded as the ivory tower as well as the frontline where various ideological trends pool together. However, under the influence of socialized trends, modern colleges and universities can not live in a vacuum. Furthermore, undergraduates are a relatively particular group in that they are socially characterized by sensitiveness and activeness, being immature in mental pattern and way of action, who are inclined to be affected by outer surroundings and take insensible actions, thus causing passive influence and even immense agony. The frequent occurrence of incidents in colleges have proved that point. Moreover, although the concept of harmony has been prevalent in campus,"harmonious campus" is still a void slogan. The importance of management of urgent incidents has received insufficient attention. And each college has it’s own characteristics, results of general research and the so-called emergency plan copied from others can not be used to settle all the problems. Therefore, the study of management and disposition of incidents in colleges, especially some feasible suggestions aiming at certain traits in a particular college, is of theoretical and practical value.The said thesis, a study of management of incidents in colleges, which is based on Robert Heath’s4R Theory, is carried out based on practical conditions of H College. It consists of three parts.Part One is the introduction. It deals with background and significance of the paper, explanation of current situation in the domain, elucidation of theoretical tool and research methods, and outline, difficulty and potential innovation of the paper.Part Two is the introduction of current situation in management of incidents in Colleges of Henan. By combining practice of management and disposition of incidents in H College, the paper points out existing problems in the management and disposition of incidents in Henan colleges in aspects such as lack of crisis awareness, deficiency of management system as well as poor disposition and communication of aftermaths, thus analyzing their causes.Part Three proposes solutions by combining practice and from the cultivation of managemental awareness, construction of systems of managemental organizations, smooth communication in dealing with incidents and exploration and perfection of aftermath disposition measures, which will provide reference to the management and disposition of incident in colleges.
