A Study On The Employment Of The Persons With Disabilities:an Empowerment Perspective

Along with economic development, promoting and improving the employment of persons with disabilities has become an important part for guaranteeing their basic livelihood. As the limitation both from the society and persons with disabilities themselves, these people are faced with severe challenges in employment. Although experts have already proposed strategies and solutions, it seems that the status quo and its further development of the livelihood of the population under discussion are not promising in the nearest future.This paper focuses on the employment of the persons with disabilities and tries to describe the status quo of how these people are doing with their employment, and topics of gender discrimination, distribution of their occupations, income and industrial welfare regarding with their employment are discussed. From a perspective of empowerment, factors hidden behind the difficulties in hunting a job are analyzed, and the paper finds that the de-powered society, interpersonal relationships and the disabled individuals themselves, are the main factors leading to the difficulties in being employed. And accordingly suggestions to improve the employment of the population are provided.
