| In June,2001the Ministry of Education promulgated "The Reform Program Of BasicEducation Curriculum ", which points out that teachers should emphasize on the students’ activelearning instead of “Duck-stuffing†type of teaching and try their best to make the studentsobtain the basic knowledge and basic skills. At the same time the students can form right valuesand know how to learn. Teachers ought to encourage the students to participate actively, bewilling to explore and practice and manage to train the students’ abilities of collecting andprocessing information, of analyzing and solving problem and the ability to communication andcooperation rather than reception learning, learning by rote and mechanical training. However, high school students, especially girl students have the habit of just doing it passively accordingto the teachers’ tasks. Along with the teaching reform in full swing, many girl students do notknow what to do when they have more and more free time. They feel at a loss and do not knowhow to arrange the time, so they waste most of the time. In fact, they lack the ability ofautonomous learning. In order to meet the requirements of new curriculum, teachers need tofully understand the influence factors of self-regulated learning ability of girl students in highschool in math and the analysis of the differences in the abilities among the girl students. Tosolve the problem above, we base our research on the analysis on the results of previous studies, the theories related to the mathematics autonomous learning ability and some contemporaryviews of constructivism theory. Using the method of theoretical analysis and the questionnaireresearch, we do some surveys among the girl students from The High School affiliated to JiningUniversity, Jining No.1High School, Jining Yucai High school and Jining Shiyan High school. We find out the causes of the low ability of independent learning in math and put forward thecorresponding countermeasures. This paper is divided into six parts. The main contents are asfollows:Chapter one brings up the question. In a new round of basic education curriculum reform inour country as the background, it introduces the present condition of the autonomous learning inmathematics for high school girls, and also illustrates the realistic basis and the significance ofthe research.Chapter two describes the related definitions and the theoretical basis of independentlearning. It demonstrates the feasibility and rationality on the basis of humanistic educationtheory, cognitive learning theory, meta-cognitive learning theory.Chapter three describes the factors influencing high school girls’ autonomous learningability in mathematics. According to the teaching experience of the author, the reason why girlsare not good at learning math independently is complex, such as family, social, intellectual and non-intellectual, innate and acquired factors. But mostly, it is the acquired factors that influencethe girls’ independent learning in mathematics difficultly. This study analyzes these factors fromfour aspects, including the students, the teachers, the teaching material and environment. Thestudy shows that in the process of training girls’ independent learning ability in math, we shouldnot only pay attention to the non-intelligence factors, such as learning motivation, learninginterest, learning habits, family environment, willpower, etc., but more to the learning method, ways of thinking, basic skills and other factors.Chapter four shows the differences between the high school male and female students’autonomous learning ability and the analysis of causes as well. The author made the relevantinvestigation on independent learning ability and their differences in math of both male andfemale high school students. And take effective teaching methods and guidance according to thethinking characteristics of girls, help them form good habits of independent learning, andgradually cultivate their independent learning ability in mathematics. Only in this way can wemake the girls out of the present situation of poor independent learning ability in math, and makethem get fully development.Chapter five is the teaching strategies on how to improve the independent learning ability ofhigh school girls in math. The author puts forward some strategies in seven aspects, to show theprocess from finding mistakes to awareness, and help the girl students establish confidence andinterest in learning math; to help girls improve their learning methods; to strengthen the trainingof girls’ learning skill in math; to cultivate girls’ independence in learning math by setting up theerror data bank; to pay attention to the training of girls’ logical thinking ability and spaceimagination; to carry on the attribution guidance education and correct inappropriate attributionway; to focus on developing girls’ understanding memory and cultivate their summarizing abilityin math learning.Chapter six is the conclusion. The research summarizes applicable results on girls’ goodlearning ability in math which are regular and easily for people to adapt, thus to provide specificguidance and reference on cultivating girls’ independent ability in math learning and teaching. |
