Teaching material’s diversification has been a basic policy in the construction of teaching material in elementary school in our country since the1980’s, it plays a very important role in keeping prosperity and quality of teaching material. It has become the trend of current teaching material construction.In2001, Beijing city launched the curriculum reform of elementary education in twenty-first Century, from then on, the curriculum reform of elementary education began to be in full swing, at the same time, the diversification of teaching material in Beijing became prosperity gradually. In the background of the new curriculum reform, this paper uses the research methods of educational history research method, content analysis method and literature analysis method, and so on, to comb the history of the ten years of the curriculum reform of elementary education in Beijing. Meanwhile, the paper sums up and rethinks teaching material construction achievements of Beijing city and the existing problems, so that we can find a road with Beijing characteristics to construct teaching material, as well as provide some reference experience for the curriculum reform of elementary education in Beijing, even for the whole country.This paper is divided into five parts. Part one tells the research origin, research status, research significance and the main research methods; Part two mainly combs the ten years history of the curriculum reform of elementary education in twenty-first Century, according to the size and the period of the reform, divide it into four stages:starting the implementation stage, promoting orderly stage, promoting entirely stage and consolidating as well as deepening stage. Besides, this part sums up the preliminary results obtained from the experiment; Part three introduces the current situation of the construction of teaching material in Beijing, which based on capital characteristics demonstration and high quality guarantee. The part of capital characteristics demonstration shows the unique geographical conditions, historical culture and school characteristics, while the part of high quality guarantee covers the material structure design, content selection and expression, evaluation and textbook revision and improvement of content; Part four analyzes the reason of being able to keeping high quality and diversification in textbook construction in Beijing, and sketches out the writing, authorizing, publishing and selecting of teaching material; Part five discusses the problems existing in teaching material construction in the city of Beijing, and proposes some advice to solve these problems.
