A Study On Relations Of University Students’ Emotion And Self-control

The relationship of emotion and behavior has been one of the important issues researchers focused on at home and abroad. Since the1990s, researches on the relationship of emotion and self-control gradually arisen, especially for negative emotion concern. On the other hand, the resource mode of self-control research also got to a new step. But by so far, knowledge on relationship of emotion and self-control is not very clear. What is the mechanism of relationship of mood and self-control? Again how self-control influence mood? What effect does emotion on ego depletion? The answer to these questions can put a light on recognizing the relationship of mood and self-control, reducing emotion’s disadvantage on individual’s self-control, improving the negative influence of individual self management ability, and has important theoretical and practical significance. This is also the purpose of the study.This study adopt experimental approach to emotional state and self-control behavior relations, specifically for:study1shows that:self-control resource model can be used in China’s college students. Study2shows that:emotional materials with different titer induced effectively the mood, neutral emotional group behave in self-control significantly higher than negative emotions group or positive emotions group, and negative emotions group and positive emotions group did not differ significantly. Study3shows that mood valence decline ifter individual self-control task. Research4shows that the function different emotions on ego depletion recovery is different, that is, positive emotion is beneficial to the recovery of ego depletion, individuals accepted positive emotions after ego depletion processing subjects n subsequent self-control task of performance is significantly better than negative emotions group and neutral emotional group, negative emotions group and neutral emotion have no significant differences between them.This study adopts experimental method on college students’ self-control measurement, to nake up for the previous use of questionnaire to self-control research’s limitation; the results;an also enhance understanding of relationship of emotion and ego depletion.
