Abstract/Summary:
Postgraduates have become a new group of kindergarten teachers since2005. This research mainly used the method of qualitative research, complementary with small-scale questionnaire to explore postgraduates kindergarten teachers’ adaptation of their jobs.The research found that, under the aura of highly educated, postgraduates kindergarten teachers are under huge pressure. According to the analysis of the questionnaires and interview materials code, researchers found that there are some problems on the way of postgraduates kindergarten teachers’ adapting their jobs.The problems are as follows:There are some problems in their teaching:lacking the ability of creating the environment, don’t know how to choose and make the materials with teaching; lacking the teaching (art, music, dance, etc) skills and the knowledge of teaching methods and teaching strategies; Part of the teachers’ teaching activities lacking of interest, can’t attract children’s interest. The main problem they meet in the educational scientific research is being confronted doppelganger, not having enough time and energy to give consideration to the teaching and scientific research;Not having common feelings and words with other teachers, lacking of discussion with others. There are three types of the relationship between postgraduates kindergarten teachers and their colleagues:independence, less contact type; Hard to blend in type (divided into a jealous, excluded type and different words type) and mutual cooperative type; When they get work and married, the main problem are as follows:lacking of support of their families, social support weakened; Suffering role conflict in balancing family and work. After basically adapting to the kindergarten work, part of the postgraduates kindergarten teachers are confused on their career development in future.Secondly, this study analyzes the factors of impacting postgraduates kindergarten teachers’ adaptation of their jobs.The factors are as follows:the teachers’individual factors, their families and parenting events, kindergarten factors and the factors of adaptation process. Teachers’personal factors are as follows:teacher’s professional background, personality characteristics, pre-orientation of career, induction attitude and adjust.Teacher’s family is an important supporting force;Raising events have both positive and negative influences on teacher’s adaptation of jobs. The kindergarten factors are as follows:kindergarten environment and atmosphere,the promotion of the kindergarten development space and opportunities, the principal, teachers, and other important people. In addition, the factors of adaptation process are also included.Finally, based on the research findings, the researchers proposed some advice to promote teachers’ adaptation of jobs from three aspects of postgraduates kindergarten teachers,universities and kindergartens. Postgraduates should take positive self-aid adaptation strategies. Colleges should take consideration of appropriately adjusting the training mechanism and curriculum of graduate students.The kindergartens should provide targeted training for graduate students, pay equal attention to training and using, and give teachers time to adapt and grow.
