Graduate education as the top higher education, to a certain extent, representing the national education level, reflecting a national intelligence resources and reserves, and stands for a national scientific and economic competitiveness. The essence of graduate education is innovation. Cultivate innovative talents is the demand of the knowledge-based economy era, looking to the future for China, catching up with the world trend and achieving the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation’s strategic initiatives. Therefore, the graduate education should undertake the burden of training high-level innovative talents, and it is an important stage of cultivating creative personnel.American graduate education is the model of the world higher education, especially for Technology Universities. They have accumulated lots of experience and cultivated a large number of innovative talents. In the period of popularization in higher education, we made the comparative research on the cultivating mode for graduate students of Technology Universities between China and America. We found there are some problems on post graduate cultivate modes both in China and America. Particularly, there are some outstanding problems on the cultivating work in China. Such as single cultivated goal, obsolete curriculum setting, division of teaching and researching et al. It cannot adapt to elites’personal development and cultivation of innovation. We are facing with the challenge which the time put forward. How to conceive innovative cultivating mode scientifically and rationally, and solve the problem in the cultivating process is the critical task that encounters educators. This study aims to start with this, takes measures to perfect our graduate cultivating mode, and improves the quality of cultivate innovative talents.Based on the above considerations, the paper is divided into six parts:the chapter Ⅰ introduce the research background and significance, the present research situation, the research content, the research methods and innovation etc; the chapter Ⅱ introduce the study base including the definition of the core concept and the correlative theories foundation. The chapter Ⅲ introduced the cultivating modes of Technology Universities both in China and America, analyses their similarities and differences and finds out their problems in the part Ⅳ; the chapter Ⅴ, using for reference of the cultivating mode of Technology Universities in America and provides the strategies and measures for perfecting graduate cultivating mode in our Technology Universities; the chapter Ⅵ provides the conclusion.
